Hilde is home!

Hilde came home yesterday! We picked her up at three o'clock. We talked to the breeder Barb for about 45 minutes so we could get our last directions before we took her home. Hilde got to say bye to her Mom and Dad and off we went.

The ride was long because of traffic. It took us over two hours. We stopped once at Long Lake for a bathroom break. Hilde did a great job on the car ride. She cruised the back seat, snuggled, slept a bit and tried to sniff out the window. She was happy and didn't say a peep on the way home.

When she got home she explored her area (the living room) and played with some toys. She met Auntie Jodi and Auntie Jolyn who gave her lots of love. She also played with Serena- her nanny for the summer. She ate a little bit, but wasn't too interested in food. I think with all the excitement food didn't hold that much interest.

Before bed she went outside to play and do some business and she met Coal the neighbor dog. They romped and played and a had a great time. Hilde really likes Coal and Coal was really gentle with her. The raced all over the yard together.

So far Hilde enjoys eating grass and sticks. Her favorite toy is a stuffed squeaky turtle. She has already chewed off the corner of a nylabone. She also enjoys plowing through the flower gardens. Oh- and eating the flowers. She has managed to prune quite a few irises that maybe didn't need pruning just yet. She likes to get into the wet hostas for a little lie down. It must feel cool on her tummy.

This morning Hilde met Mae and Mae's three boys. She liked to chase them when they ran around the yard. She also met the neighbors Craig, Curt and Mary. She also met the neighbor dogs Molly, Riley and Reggie.

Molly wasn 't a big fan of Hilde. I am sure they will learn to like each other! I think Hilde was a little to rambunctious for Molly's taste. Reggie wasn't too excited to have another puppy in the neighborhood, but she did a good job with Hilde.

She is so cute! Love the play by play - sounds like she's already an adventurer! Lucy can't wait to meet her! sarah
