Super fancy pants are growing!

Hilde is growing like a weed. This includes her fancy girl coat. She is getting longer and longer fur and some very nice curls. Her tail is growing in as are her fancy pants behind her legs. It is a great burr catcher this time of year! I can't imagine what winter and wet snow will bring.

Here is Hilde being a very good girl doing a sit and stay on a chair. She is trying so hard to be good she looks SO serious!

Here is Hilde's curly coat.

Her fancy tail...

Look at all the curls and fur growing on her! She has lots of white on her. She doesn't really care that she wears white after Labor Day....

Party foul

Hilde is up to lots of fun as usual. This morning we went to the beach and there were 2 other puppies. A 4 week old chocolate lab and an 8 month old puppy, but I am not sure what she was. Part black lab I think. Hilde's friend Newton the dog was there too. Hilde was CUH-RAZY this morning so we stopped at the lake on our way to Caribou to run around. Happily all those puppies were there so she ran and ran and romped and played in the water and sand. Sadly the party was over when the puppies found dead fish to roll in.

Hilde got her Halloween costume today at a store on Grand Ave. called "Don't Make Me Beg". It is a really cute store. Stay tuned for Halloween pictures. It is too early to reveal her costume!

Here is Hilde in her new bed. She likes to put all her toys in the bed with her. You can see her little love "lamby" on the bed.

As you can see Hilde really, really loves this bed! Even when she isn't in it, she is sort of in it!

Pretty much all of these pictures are of Hilde the sleepy dog. We are working very hard to make sure she is not feeling pent-up and nutty after being in the kennel all day while we are at work. She goes on three walks a day and has lots and lots of toys to keep her occupied. I also think overall she is kind of a mellow girl. She likes to lounge and be a little lazy. Nothing wrong with that....

Hilde update of the week

Hilde's friend Chelsey went home yesterday. They had a great week romping, chomping and generally driving each other crazy. We weighed Hilde today and she is almost 54 pounds. I didn't think she was supposed to be this big so soon.

At Chuck and Don's we decided Hilde needed a bed. She got this lovely bed below for general use. We also got her a pad for her kennel. Since she is in it while we are at work and all night, we figured some cushion would feel nice.

Hilde the Hamster

Hilde was left unsupervised for about 15 minutes. I was upstairs and Ray was downstairs. We left the Sunday ads on the dining room chair and here is the result. It looks like a hamster lives in my dining room.

She sure is pleased with the result!

Sunday morning

Most weekend mornings we go through the Caribou drive through to get some coffee. When we go through the drive through they give Hilde (and today, Chelsey) a milkbone! Hilde has come to expect a treat, so we have a stash in the glove box in case they forget or run out.

Here are Hilde and Chelsey on their way to the drive through.

Hilde's houseguest

My friend Carla is out of town for 10 days and her furry baby Chelsey is staying with us while she is gone. Chelsey and Hilde are getting along very well. As you can see below they are sharing a chew stick. It is like Lady and the Tramp.

Current events with Hilde

As usual things with Hilde have been busy. She graduated from kindergarten on Thursday. Her next class is called "basic manners". I don't think it involves using a napkin... It is more of the same like sit, down, stay and don't jump. It is just for older pups. During kindergarten she lost a tooth. It bled a lot and really freaked me out. All of a sudden she has lost a lot of teeth. I think four or more. It is hard to keep track and I don't know where they go! I bet she has eaten some of them. We weighed Hilde this week-end and she is in the neighborhood of 45 pounds, but the scale at Chuck and Don's was a little wacky. Here are some pictures from Hilde's week:

Hilde likes to lay on the bed with her open mouth resting on her soccer ball. The pressure must help her teeth hurt less.
Here she is again with her soccer teething ball.

Here is Hilde's Kindergarten diploma. You will notice it is a bit wrinkled and messed up. That is because Hilde tried to eat it!

Here is Hilde at Wilder Forest. We go to a farm co-op there to pick up chickens. I thought she would look pretty in the yellow flowers. She did her first sit and stay for the camera! She is getting quite good at stay. (See she is AP puppy!!)

Here is Hilde riding in the back seat. She sat back and put her arm on the arm rest. She rode like this for quite a while!

Hilde's Holiday

Hilde and I have had a good week during my time off. She was so tired yesterday. She slept almost the whole day. Today- Labor Day, she has fully recovered and is happily destroying toys, squeaking squeakies and growling at her tail. This morning Hilde and Ray met me while I was finishing my run. Then we went for a ride to Caribou. Then Hilde went to the lake and went swimming and running through the tall grass at the park.

Here is sleep Hilde on the couch. Every critter loves this blanket for some reason. I think it is really itchy...
Here is a toy I got for Hilde at the state fair. It is a hollow sock monkey and you stick an empty water bottle in it. She loves it. It makes the crunchy water bottle sound, but is safe because the water bottle is covered by the sock monkey.

Here is Hilde with another state fair toy. It is a rabbit without stuffing. It looks like a road kill rabbit. It is long and floppy and has squeakers in it. Hilde is a big time sock thief, so we are hoping this will cure her sock longings.
