Merry Christmas part 2

Hilde is still enjoying Christmas fun. She has been happy to have us home. She also has been enjoying her Christmas presents. In addition to what you see in the pictures she also got a "busy bone". I would've taken a picture but the busy bone is LONG gone.

Here is Hilde with her Christmas haul. She also got a box of Milk Bones and the above mentioned Busy Bone.

Here is Hilde chewing on her squeaky present. It is by far her favorite of the Christmas presents.

Hilde's first Christmas

Merry Christmas! Hilde had a great day today. She loved Christmas- but what is not to love!? She got to open presents, eat a special puppy wet food Christmas brunch and play with her new toys and her cousin Britta. Hilde got some Milk Bones for Christmas. Here are pictures of her opening the box. She also got some other toys. Stay tuned for more Christmas fun pictures!

Here is Hilde with her present...

Oh boy she is getting closer to getting it open!

Yahoo! A box of Milk Bones!!!! Yippee for Christmas! Santa knew just what I wanted!

Hilde is part polar bear!

Hilde really loves the cold. It is has been quite cold here the last few weeks. Some days the wind chill has been close to -40. Hilde can't really tell us when she is cold, so we have been careful to limit walks on really cold days. Yesterday it wasn't so cold, but the wind was whipping and the snow was falling. I decided to take Hilde for her first snow shoe. We went through the woods by our house and out onto the lake. On the lake the snow was up to Hilde's chest. It didn't bother her at all. She loved it! She was really good around my snow shoes and only stepped on them a few times. I tried to take a bunch of other pictures further down the trail and on the lake, but the camera has been cranky for weeks and I think it has given up the ghost. Maybe Santa will bring Hilde and I a new one for Christmas!

More on Hilde this week

At last weigh in Hilde was over 75 pounds. This weekend we were looking at her and we are pretty sure she has gotten taller. We talked to our vet and decided that even though she is a big, big girl her weight is too high. We took Hilde off her puppy food and now she is eating adult food. She can have the same amount, but the adult food has less calories. Hopefully that will help her even out a bit and remain a healthy pup.

Ho Ho Hilde!

Phew it has been a busy week with Hilde and with Christmas coming up on us quickly. This week was fore casted to be VERY cold so we spent the weekend trying to wear Hilde out. On Saturday we took a 1 1/2 hour walk. Hilde met a new little puppy name Bali. She is a four month old black lab, which as you may know Hilde is a big fan of. Hilde and Bali romped and wrestled like crazy all over. Bali lost a tooth while wrestling and she bled all over Hilde! In the pictures below Hilde is wet because she had to have a bath after her coat got all icky.

Here is Hilde in front of the Christmas tree.

Here is Hilde with an ornament that looks just like her. A little golden with skis on her feet!

Here is Hilde chewing a wrapping paper tube. As Ray pointed out this may set a bad precedent for tubes that actually have paper on them.
Here is Hilde helping in the ornament bins. It was a bit of a grazing session at first.

It's a marshmallow world in the winter...

It is has been a snowy, snowy weekend. It snowed on Friday, Saturday and today on Sunday. We are supposed to get more tomorrow and through the week. If the promise of 3 or more inches of snow tomorrow holds true Hilde and I will go snow shoeing. Yipee! Today we got our Christmas tree. I think Hilde wonders why we get to bring this huge stick in the house and she has to drop all her finds at the door.

Here is Hilde hanging out the car window taking in all the tree lot action. She had quite a few admirers at the tree lot.

Here is Hilde right after we put the tree up. She really gave it quite a sniff over.

Puppy school drop-out

Puppy school drop-out
No graduation day for you
Puppy school drop-out
Missed your mid-terms and flunked drop the shoe

Ok- so it wasn't Hilde's fault. I think we signed her up for a too high of a level class and I will be the first to admit we weren't diligent enough in doing our homework. In my defense though she got about four pages of homework every class! Sheesh.
